Will it work in my car?

HUDWAY Cast needs to be mounted on the dash in front of driver’s eyes otherwise the driver will be unable to see the projection.

Provided that there’s enough space on the dash and there is a cigarette lighter receptacle available to plug in the power cable, the device will work in your vehicle.

Among the vehicles known to us where the device will not fit are Toyota Prius C, BMW Z3, and the like vehicles with very low-sloped windscreen.

Will it work with my smartphone?

To wirelessly mirror the contents of your smartphone screen onto HUDWAY Cast lens, it is required that your smartphone supports either AirPlay (iPhones) or Miracast (Android) streaming protocol.

The latter has been deprecated on Nexus devices running Android 6.0 and later, as well as on a range of LG smartphones. So if wireless connection is critical for you, please check whether your smartphone supports wireless streaming.

If your Android device supports Miracast, the Screen Mirroring option will be available in the Settings app or in the pull-down/notification menu.

AirPlay Mirroring introduced by Apple with iOS 5 has been available on all iOS devices ever since and can be enabled in Control Center.

Alternatively, you can connect your smartphone to the HUDWAY Cast device using a USB OTG cable enclosed in the box. This will work for all iOS and Android devices — and your smartphone will be charged through HUDWAY Cast at the same time.

How is it powered?

HUDWAY Cast powers from a cigarette lighter receptacle in your vehicle. The end of the cable that plugs in the receptacle has an adaptor equipped with two USB ports, so that you can power HUDWAY Cast and charge two smartphones at the same time. This cable is a default option and is enclosed in every device box.

An alternative option would be to buy an OBD-II power cable which powers from an OBD-II port of your vehicle. This cable is an add-on, and needs to be purchased separately.

When plugged in the OBD-II port, the speed and RPM of the vehicle are fetched. However, it's an either/or case — you can choose to see either this car data on the lens, or mirror the smartphone screen to the lens — not both at the same time.

Where do you ship from? Will I need to pay customs duties?

To EU countries we ship from a EU warehouse (Latvia). EU customers don’t pay customs duties.

To US customers we ship from a US warehouse (Utah). US customers don’t pay customs duties either.

Orders from the rest of the world are shipped from China, and these customers may be subject to import duties. We recommend that you check with your customs what duties you will have to pay, and whether this is agreeable to you.

Please note that we do not mark orders as gifts or samples, nor do we reimburse any duties and fees you may have to pay to get the device.

I’ve placed an order. How do I track it?

When your order is shipped and we receive the tracking info from the carrier, we will email you the tracking code so that you can check the shipping status online.

EU orders are most probably shipped by DHL, US orders — by USPS or Fedex, whereas for the rest of the world carriers may vary. We thus recommend that you check your shipping status by entering your tracking code on 17track.net website.

Is my payment information secure?

On our website we're using Celery to process orders. Celery securely stores payment information with Stripe, their payment processor. Stripe is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1. This is the most stringent level of certification available. Payment information is transmitted using SSL encryption.

What is the warranty & refund policy for the device?

Hudway warrants that the included hardware product will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for one year from the date of purchase.

Hudway may address valid claims under this warranty by, at its sole option, repairing, replacing (with a new or refurbished product), or refunding the purchase price for the product.
